CEMEX is bringing awareness to Florida’s beloved sea cows with a new $7 million cement unloader at its Port of Palm Beach, Fla., cement terminal.
The 225-ton unloader features a manatee mural dedicated to the local nonprofit Friends of Manatee Lagoon, which educates the community about the challenges manatees encounter in the state. Since 1975, the manatee has been the official marine mammal of Florida.
The 12-wheeled vehicle will unload CEMEX’s cement from dry-bulk cargo vessels into trucks that will deliver the product around South Florida.
